From The New York Times:
The United States military said Monday that five American soldiers had been shot to death by a fellow soldier who opened fire on them at one of the biggest American bases in Baghdad, and that the suspected shooter was in custody.
[...]CNN, citing unnamed officials, said that at least three others were wounded in the attack, which it said had taken place at a clinic for soldiers suffering from war stress. [italics mine]
Despite a falling death rate of American soldiers, the incidence of post-traumatic stress is still fairly high (one in six). This latest incidence might hurt the plan to start withdrawing troops from Iraq within 2 months, or it might highlight the brutality of war and thereby give the American public a bitter taste they want to get rid off as soon as possible.
