Hello my fellow political junkies,

If you think you are not a political junkie in the traditional sense of the term, I think you actually really are deep inside. Politics is not just about Washington, the Constitution, and politicking. It is about people, power, and drama. We are all political animals, as Aristotle once said, because we are interested in knowing about those big three. Politics is just one big soap opera. But the big “gotcha” is that we are not the audience, but part of it and affected by everything that happens onstage. Can Days of Our Lives guarantee that? (Probably).

I’ve been writing and blogging about anything slightly political for over 6 years. For me, there is always a political angle to something. Pop culture, sociology, cooking, fashion, entertainment, knitting, they are full of pols. Someone wants something someone else wants, so how will it all end? Politics!

As you might have guessed, I majored in politics, hence the name. But PoliticsMajor is PoliticsMajor because how important I think what happens when other people have tremendous power over our lives is to our social consciousness. Or at least should be.

This site is meant to fulfill your hunger for everything political, with a dash of randomness, hopefully original and thought-provoking cross-connections, and that “Ahum” moment we all secretly dig. I hope this will soon enough become a collaborative effort, through comments, news alerts and post suggestions from all of you. Maybe–just maybe–some of you will even go the extra mile and offer to write a post here or there. I want to hear from you way more than I want to hear myself.
